How Can AI Create More Livable Cities?

Online

Overview

Various concepts of “smart cities” promise greatly increased efficiency and connectedness in urban environments, and many such smart functions are driven by artificial intelligence (AI). What can stories of success and failure of existing AI applications teach us about how to improve the livability of our cities? And as the world’s most rapidly growing cities strive to achieve carbon-neutrality, tackle systematic inequality, and provide quality housing, clean air and water, and efficient and effective transport solutions, how can new applications of AI help them succeed?

The newly launched Japan-India Transformative Technology Network seeks to connect and empower a critical mass of outstanding change-makers in two of Asia’s largest democracies – India and Japan. This online discussion for Fellows of the Network is part of a series designed to deepen Fellows’ understanding of these challenges and begin exploring how to formulate solutions to address them.

This program is open exclusively to accepted participants of the Japan-India Transformative Technology Network.
