Daria Zhydkova

Senior Programme Officer, The HALO Trust, Ukraine

Daria Zhydkova is a Senior Program Officer at The HALO Trust, world's biggest non-profit organisation that works on removing mines and explosive ordnance. Daria joined HALO following full-scale invasion of Ukraine and has since been dealing with a large portfolio of projects focused on clearance of explosive remnants, identification of areas that are contaminated, and on provision of information about risks and safe behaviour to wider population and relevant state institutions. She believes that removal of explosive ordnance will be of utmost importance for securing safety of civilian population that is returning to the areas in Ukraine that have been impacted by the fighting. Prior to her work with HALO, Daria worked on a variety of research projects for a Swiss organization IMPACT Initiatives in Somalia and Bangladesh and has several years of experience in management of projects in the humanitarian sector. Daria holds a Master's degree in International Development from the University of Grenoble and a Master's in Human Rights and Democratization from Yerevan State University.
