Anna Matheson

Anna Matheson is a senior lecturer in public health at Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand. Her research expertise is in the application of complexity theory to better understand the public health evidence of, and the implementation of actions to reduce, health inequalities - particularly what this means for policy approaches, community interventions and research methods. She is interested in the use of innovative methodologies which recognise social systems are complex, such as systems change and community action, case-based methods and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). Anna is also an associate investigator with Te P?naha Matatini a Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) for complex systems and networks. Her Ph.D. in public health is from the Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Otago. She currently teaches two Masters of Public Health (M.P.H.) papers - Foundations of Public Health Practice and Health Systems and Policy.
