Jordi Albareda Ureta

Founder and Director, FairSaturday, Bilbao, Spain

Jordi Albareda Ureta is a prominent social entrepreneur and the founder and director of the Fair Saturday Foundation. Fair Saturday is a global cultural movement with a social impact taking place every year the day after Black Friday. In only four years, this project born in Bilbao-Bay of Biscay has been adopted by many cities worldwide, becoming a global movement. Jordi counts on extensive experience in the artistic production and great impact cultural events administration field, being the one in charge of the artistic production of the Fair Saturday annual opening event at the Bilbao Arena. Jordi is a former consultant at McKinsey&Co and member of the board of directors at Leroy Merlin Spain. He is a current member of the St Andrew's National Day Commission in the Scottish Parliament. He was appointed as a German Marshall fund fellow in 2018. In 2017, Jordi was presented with the On+ Innovation Award by the Bay of Biscay Government, and in 2016 he was awarded the Novia Salcedo Prize by King Felipe VI. He graduated with a master's degree in business administration from the University of Deusto, Bilbao.
