Minseok Chi

Artist, ARKO, South Korea

Minseok is a Korean artist currently working in Korea and Mexico. The most important thing in his life is 'love'. He thinks that we can be happy through "love," and that "love" is the solution to modern social problems. He studied Korean traditional art and Oriental philosophy at SunKyunKwan University where he received a bachelor of arts and bachelor of fine arts. Minseok has completed the requirements for a master of fine arts excluding his thesis at UNAM (National University of Mexico). As an artist, he has had solo and group exhibitions in Korea, Mexico, USA, etc. Growing up as a family member of Buddhists, he experienced Buddhism, and accepted it as an art, philosophy, and way of life, not just a religion. He lives in contemplation of what he has studied with the art he loves and how it can be used for human happiness. He thinks that everything in this world has its own beauty and thinks we should feel this beauty through love. For him, what is beautiful is not art; art is a "door" that makes us feel its beauty. He is the maker of the "door," and he wants to open it with people and enter the happiness.
