The COVID-19 pandemic opened a remarkable window of opportunity for transforming education systems. Recognizing the gap between what we have versus what we need, an unparalleled public education sector and political momentum behind education transformation has emerged. A key theme within this movement is intergenerational collaboration and leadership.
These key shifts – away from incremental improvement to reform, and towards new power dynamics within and across education systems – are new territory and require space for learning, connection and action.
Over the course of four years, this initiative will bring together diverse leaders to deepen the global dialogue and accelerate action to transform education, with a specific focus on understanding and enabling intergenerational leadership and collaboration. The 2023 convening is designed to lay the groundwork for the following three years – seizing the momentum and shaping the transformation agenda in 2023 and beyond.
An invite only 3.5 day in-person intergenerational convening for approximately 25 participants. This will be preceded and followed by a series of virtual webinars to test and develop learning questions, and surface insights and examples from a diverse set of organizations, people and places. We are aiming to build a coalition of partners and participants from different contexts and generations who are committed to education transformation and the role of intergenerational collaboration and leadership within it.
