Ensuring the cities support nature, health, and society is a challenge for urban residents globally. What solutions could National Park Cities offer?

Inspired by the aims and principles of the world's family of national parks, a National Park City is a place, a vision, and a city-wide community acting together to make life better for people, wildlife, and nature. A defining feature is the widespread commitment to act, so people, culture, and nature work together to provide a better foundation for life. 

Salzburg Global Seminar partners with the National Park City Foundation to support the aim of as many cities worldwide as possible becoming National Park Cities.

Two years after the launch of the Universal Charter for National Park Cities and the London National Park City, there are people around the world working towards making their city a National Park City. From Adelaide to Manila and Tokyo to Sacramento, people from different places and cultures are coming together with shared hopes and ambitions. 

If you are about to start a campaign to make your city a National Park City or have been working to achieve the status for some time already, join this open meeting to be inspired and supported by people who are working to make their cities National Park Cities. We'll be sharing our hopes and progress, exploring practices, answering questions and giving advice.

These meetings take place on the first Thursday of each month, varying between 09:00, 15:00 and 23:00 (Central European Time) so that people can join from different time zones. Everyone is welcome.
