CULTURAL INNOVATORS FORUM

Past Program

May 08 - May 09, 2020 Session 673

Moving from Me to We in the Upper Midwest

Online

Overview

As a result of financial crises and regional upheaval, many urban and rural communities find themselves confronting serious social and economic challenges. Community regeneration, particularly in smaller towns and rural areas, is difficult, and the role that artists and young cultural innovators can play in contributing to economic revitalization and social improvement is even more underserved.

The YCI Forum is designed to support the creative and innovative transformation of communities by helping young cultural innovators receive the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to become impactful agents of change. The Forum provides support to emerging young artists and cultural actors who are using innovative practices to catalyze transformation in their communities by helping them meet and collaborate.

This meeting of the Upper Midwest YCI Hub will bring together young cultural innovators from Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota and the 23 Native nations that share the same geography. The meeting is supported by The Bush Foundation and The McKnight Foundation.
